Also referred to as the Canadian lobster, true lobster, northern lobster, and the American lobster, the Maine lobster is very large lobster species that can weigh up to 45 pounds. It is the heaviest crustacean and arthropod living today.
Scientific Name: Homarus americanus
Characteristics: Like all Safari models, this figurine was hand painted and professionally crafted with scientific accuracy in mind. his stingray is known by many names, including Black-blotched Stingray, Black-spotted Stingray, Round Ribbontail Ray, Speckled Stingray, and - when its coloration is dark with lighter gray and white speckling - the Marble Ray. This large ray can grow up to six feet across and is found in tropical waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans.
Scientific Name: Taeniura meyeni
Characteristics: This hand-painted and highly detailed Marble Ray figure is scientifically accurate, educational and fun! It’s sculpted with the fronts of its fins raised, meaning it is beginning the undulating motion that will push its body through the water.
Size and Color: At about 5 ½ inches wide, the main body of this figure is slightly larger than a DVD or Blu-Ray disc, with the tail adding an additional 3 inches to the length, making it about 8 inches long. Its base color is a charcoal gray, with white, gray and tan speckles covering its body. Its underside is a lighter gray, and its eyes are gold.

History: While there are a large number of sea turtle species, many of them are in danger. The IUCN has classified three species as either endangered or critically endangered, and an additional three as vulnerable. Similarly, all sea turtle populations found in North American waters are listed are threatened or endangered, including the green, loggerhead, Kemp’s ridley, Olive ridley, hawksbill, flatback, and leatherback sea turtle.

Scientific Name: Family Hemiscylliidae
Characteristics: This accurate, detailed Bamboo Shark features the long, cylinder-shaped body the family is known for, with small barbels on its face and large spiracles (breathing holes) underneath the eyes. Its distinctive bars mark the figure as a juvenile, or young shark.
