They’re endemic to the sub-Saharan region, and are mostly found in the jungles of the Congo. Chimpanzees are often studied due to their close relationship to humans, and they’re arguably the smartest animal on planet. Unfortunately, chimps are considered endangered due to a loss of their natural habitat from the growth and incursion of human populations.
